The GIS / CAD classroom facilities are high tech consisting of the latest computers. There are 4 learning labs w/25 stations each w/ 27" monitors and 2 additional labs with drafting tables (w/ computer stations).

Additional courses (open to anyone) is offered each semester at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (DPW) at 900 S. Fremont Ave, Alhambra (no parking pass required).  However, classes will be held online until restrictions are removed for in person classes at DPW.

What software?

Rio Hondo College is ESRI site licensed. Each station is installed with the latest ESRI ArcGIS Pro with all extensions. However, you can download an Esri software with 12 month student license to install on your personal computer.

Labs are also installed with Pix4D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, SketchUp and other industry related software including Trimble Pathfinder Office (GPS).

When on campus, labs are also completely wireless for you to use your own laptop if you to prefer your own (GIS software provided).  Please note that GIS is PC only but can be installed on Mac if you initially install Parallels or BootCamp and Windows... but there is really no need to install software because you can use Remote Desktop to display the GIS Lab on your screen.
